Several cases of insurance firms using credit ratings for computing the insurance rates for automobile insurance have been found guilty of discrimination in their processing of applications. As with any US law, all are equally entitled to the same product anywhere any day so any sort of pre-inclination to deny anyone coverage for an auto insurance because of race, skin color, ethnicity and credit ratings at the set levels is illegal. Of the several that were found violating the law, they were denied applications for rates increases that should have allowed them to operate at par with the rest of the pack.
Denial means they have to retain their prices as payment for their misbehavior, and will be attended to when they have mended their ways. Insurance rates are determined by lawmakers and may vary from state to state depending on several factors such as congestion, volume and many more. These are verified and checked by lawmakers for their accuracy and justness which is aimed to allow each and every American to gain access to the same product whoever they may be.

One who travels regularly would know the true value of a good travel insurance contract from an established insurance firm. From lost bags, trip cancellations to the many other unfortunate events that can happen when you travel, insurance can give you the peace of mind that you are covered anywhere and at anytime. There are however some issues you should be quite nosy about with respect to travel insurance where ever you may be in the world, accreditation.
In a recent case from Florida, many unpaid travel insurance claims have led lawmakers to issue cease and desist orders to some travel agencies who have been selling travel insurance from a firm that was not only unlicensed in the state, but has long been closed for business. Travel insurance companies have to be registered and acknowledged by national insurance groups as well as licensed to sell products in a specific state. It does not mean that a company selling products in one state can do so in another however established and credible it may be. They can only be allowed if they are properly licensed and recognized by the state they wish to sell insurance in and again in the other states they wish to do business in. This is to avoid creating a headache for government and travel companies who have to deal with unpaid claims of victims of these scoundrels who prey on the wary.

If you are planning to take an overseas trip, you should definitely look into purchasing a trip travel insurance policy for yourself, your travel companions and your family. So, you may be asking right about now, what is travel insurance? Travel insurance is a short term policy which usually covers things like medical expenses, financial losses and the like for the duration of a trip, whether domestic or overseas.
If you are purchasing a single trip policy make sure you are covered for enough time. Add a few days to the start of the trip for coverage in case of early cancellation and a few days after you are due to return in case you have to stay a few extra days.
Travel insurance is also available on an annual basis. This is great if you have to travel often. Check the premium costs for a single trip verses an annual policy that will cover any number of trips for the whole year. Again, read the exclusions, you may think you are getting a deal but you may not be getting great coverage.
Single or annual trip travel insurance will most often include coverage for loss of luggage to loss of life. These situations rarely occur, but if they did, they could be financially devastating for the traveler of their family.
Check your current medical policy and look online for trip travel insurance. You will want something that will cover emergencies such as accidental death, medical, theft or trip cancellation.
