Types of Travel Insurance
There are two major types of travel insurance:
International travel insurance – covers travel outside your country of residence. Trips abroad should include this because your normal healthcare arrangements does not apply in other countries and in case of medical emergencies you either need insurance or you have to pay all medical bills out of pocket.
Domestic travel insurance – covers travel within your country of residence. These are generally cheaper than international policies because they usually don’t include medical coverage. They’re focused on coverage of purely travel-related problems like cancellations and closures. You can consider their worth and buy them on a trip-by-trip basis.
