Types of Trip Insurance – Cancellation Policy

Have you ever cancelled a trip because you suddenly needed it? I bet your travel insurance policy instantly seemed your very best friend. But in case you’re going on a relaxing cruise to good ol’ Greece. Would you really need trip insurance? Think about it.
There are two kinds of travel insurance. The first one is the trip cancellation policy. This is the most purchased policy since it protects its clients from mishaps, both caused by Mother Nature, or some guy trying to break in your house while you are miles away. Usually, this policy also covers properties you’ve lost while en route. But what is more important is that you should validate if your tour provider is also covered by the insurance. Some travel companies do not refund your money, so before taking a leap, check if these cruise liners are included in the policy.

Benefits of Good Travel Insurance: Loss and Cancellations
If you choose a very good travel policy, then you’re going to expect these benefits: First, the plan covers your trip cancellations, most especially if the circumstances are beyond your control (i.e. home emergencies, sudden sickness). The insurance policy will pay you a percentage to compensate for the amount you’ve paid for reservations.
In case your luggage gets lost or stolen, your travel insurance will cover any lost items. However, be sure you know the limits the insurer will have to pay. Some have only a certain percentage to pay for every bag or item.
